“Reshoring” – or the process of bringing manufacturing activities back to the United States from overseas – is critical to economic development in New Mexico and plays an important role in diversifying our state’s economy so that it is not overly dependent on federal funds and oil and gas revenues. Dale Dekker, founding principal with Dekker, will examine how New Mexico can position itself to take advantage of the seismic shifts occurring internationally and nationally to grow a robust economy in our state and present opportunities for all New Mexicans to grow and thrive in the future.

Dale Dekker is a founding principal and brand ambassador at Dekker, formerly Dekker/Perich/Sabatini (DPS), a design and architecture firm with offices in Albuquerque, Phoenix and El Paso. DPS traces its roots to 1959 when Dale’s father, Art Dekker, started an architectural and engineering sole proprietorship firm in Albuquerque. The Dekker firm provides architecture, landscape architecture, planning, interior design, and structural engineering services to its clients and is dedicated to helping build dynamic and sustainable communities.  Dale grew up in Albuquerque, graduated from Highland High School, and then went on to attend Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1975. He has been a licensed architect in New Mexico for over 40 years.
