April Global Discussion Dinner to Focus on the Rule of Law

The Albuquerque International Association is pleased to announce that its next Global Discussion Dinner will focus on “The Rule of Law in the World Today” and is planned for Tuesday, April 29 from 6 to 8 pm at D.H. Lescombes, a gourmet restaurant and winery in the Old Town area.
Moderating the discussion will be Norman Meyer, retired U.S. federal court administrator and international rule of law consultant for over 30 years. Mr. Meyer presented the AIA talk “Demystifying and Measuring the Rule of Law Worldwide” last November.
The evening will begin with a definition of the term “Rule of Law” from the World Justice Project, along with how the WJP rates the status of the Rule of Law in the United States vs. other countries. We will then move on to discuss how the four universal principles of the Rule of Law — accountability, just law, open government, and accessible & impartial justice — relate to the WJP’s ratings. We will discuss examples from current events around the world where the Rule of Law is increasing or decreasing in these four different areas.
D.H. Lescombes is located at 901 Rio Grande Blvd NW and has a diverse menu featuring delicious entrees prepared by its master chefs, along with wines honoring the family’s wine making heritage.
Our discussion dinner will take place in a warm and inviting private dining room at the restaurant specially reserved for the event. All individuals attending will order from the restaurant’s menu and pay separately for their meals and drinks and gratuity.
